Once again Salix tenants have been sold down the river!

When Salix was set up the four Salix Tenant places were chosen by a panel of tenants.

The current vacancy for a tenant board member is to be filled by the Chair, Vice Chair and the Chief Executive. Not an active tenant representative insight. Yes I know the VIce Chair is a tenant but he has never been involved at the coal face of tenant participation.

We were promised that all tenant vacancies would be filled in the same way as they were at the begining, as is good practice.

Where is the tenant empowerment that we keep hearing about, well it only applies when Salix want it to. Poor show me thinks

I hear that Salix Homes Board are to celebrate Christmas in style by having a slap up meal at Salford’s only 5* Hotel. Partly to pat themselves on the back for working so hard on the Audit Commission Inspection.

What have Salix given the tenants for assisting in the inspection? Not a lot sadly!

What is it with these QUANGOS who continue to spend so much public money when tenants are receiving such a poor service.

Things need to change and fast or there will be not Stars and no investment in housing stock that is literally falling down.

I was very disappointed to read of the criticism of Margaret Morris in this weeks Advertiser.

As the Boroughs Mayor Margaret is doing a brilliant job, and to my mind the best we have had for many years. She has a gift for getting alongside people and at their level.

More power to your elbow Margaret your an asset to Salford!

Salford takes to the ice-really?

I see from the councils website that further details of this years pink rink have been published.

Very few Salford residents have “taken to the ice” rather we have taken a dislike to the ice!

Given that so many people in Salford are supposed to support the rink why are there no discounts fo residents. Mr.Merry recalls the success of the proms in the Park where residents were given a discount, alas nothing for this so called wonderful event.

The prices to skate are not even reduced for the unwaged.

Come on Mr.Merry if you think Salford Residents support this event put your money where your mouth is and announce a discount for Salford residents.

Local Democracy, where? Salford no never!!!

I would rather like to attend the East Salford Community Committe this week to see if dear old Toad puts in a rare appearance. However the minutes and agendas have not been published on the councils website.

We know these committees are not fit for purpose and are for the chosen few. The meeting is listed on “this weeks meeting” but no information as to venue etc.

No doubt the Council have something to hide and the good people are pushed aside again and have to learn form councillors blogs as to what’s happened in council meetings.

At the very least by not publishing the agenda, minutes and venue the Council have breached its own policy on such matters, but then again what does it matter if it suits them.

Big Black Hole-The missing 15%

I see from the latest Manchester Evening News article on “Life In”, that Royal Mail can only guarantee to deliver 85% of the new styled monthly rag!

So what about the missing 15% who wont receive it? Will Toad seek a reduction of 15% in the payment made to Royal Mail.

I have yet to see a copy of this rag so am I one of the 15% and what’s the excuse for not reaching 100% coverage.

Silence of the Lambs

I see that the Eccles Sth & Worsley CLP race night will be filmed as part of a ‘fly on the wall’ documentary.

Furthermore I understands its to be titled “Silence of the Lambs-Labour’s Bid to retain control in Salford”.

Little Bo Peep who may lose her sheep in 2010 will take the role of “Starling” . Suggestions please for other parts I have some ideas but your input is most welcome.

Skating on thin Ice!!!

In a recent comment to my Blog dear old Toad expressed his concern that my writings were abusive, the truth obvioulsy hurts!

It was considered by the great man himself to be inappropriate for me to refer to him as Toad. However his Labour cronies are permitted to liken Councillor Ian Lindley as Scrooge like and Mr.Micawber in relation to his fiscal skills.

Councillor Lindley is to be lauded not lambasted for reporting the plundering of the HRA for what Toad describes as the childrens christmas present.

How benevolent of him to think of the dear children, but those same children wont find buses running to Toad Hall from most parts of the city and that isn’t down to the change in control at GMPTE but a result of the many years of neglect when Labour had control.

The cost of skating etc is well beyond those on benefit and at the same time council houses have had no money spent on them to bring them up to the decent homes standard and judging by the way things are going Salix wont get any stars, especially when the tenants have had their say at tomorrows “focus ” group meetings.

No doubt the truth will hurt when Diamond House becomes a Hot Spot for mentioning how come we were never asked to consider sponsoring the pink rink , why so much money has been spent getting rid of half of the initial executive management team, closing local offices and waiting ones to tell tenants just who was running the show. More tin hats tomorrow please you will need them.

Well I see my blog has a mention on the Salford labour party web site, even if its been changed to reflect Toads annoyance at my Wind in the Willows Script.

I love the “Mice Pies” perhaps Toad will soon become the Pied Piper and pipe the current ruling administration out of Toad Hall.

Langworthy is soon to become the centre of attention as they prepare for failure again in 2010, shame really as Wishy Washy is a decent guy, but sadly the writings on the wall, I hope they have their tin hats at the ready for I’m sure the brickbats will be plentiful

My friends in City West my not be aware that £6000 of their Rent has been spent on the Pink Rink. Strange isn’t it that City West was thought to be Indepedent of the Council but as we know is still being run by the same old puppets with strong allegiance to Toad and his cronies.
